2. David Marshall ( Cardiff )
David Marshall was very impressive for Cardiff in what was a very forgettable campaign for the Welsh side. On average he made 3.49 saves per game, more than any other keeper in the league. His claim success was also higher than John ruddy at 99%. Of course Arsenal need a new keeper and I wouldn’t mind either of these options, David Marshall however would probably have an asking price three times the size of Ruddy and this may be slightly unjustified, especially as he’d be signing to be a back-up keeper. Clean-sheet wise Marshall was also less impressive only collecting 7 during the season. I would very much welcome this signing as his performances in the premiership showed what a class act he can be. However though the rumoured £15 million to attain his services seems a bit pricey, and this sum would be a large chunk out of our transfer budget, therefore a slightly cheaper option may be more likely from Wenger’s point of view, particularly as then more money can be put to more important areas in improving the side.
