Brendan Rodgers’ men were a re-emerging force before damaging defeats to Manchester United and Arsenal, has now left them 7 points off of 4th with 7 games to go, whilst Ronald Koeman’s team also find themselves on the same boat after losing 1-0 to Everton at Goodison Park, leaving them 8 points off the pace.
Southampton were such a promising outlet earlier through this campaign, with convincing wins over United and Arsenal along the way. But it seems they’ve now faded away along with Liverpool and Tottenham, who are all now scraping for 5th place.
