It has been a long while since Patrick Vieira took that final penalty in the FA Cup final in 2005. Since then, we have been hunting for a new, younger carbon copy of him to protect our defence. In recent months, Real Madrid and Germany starlet Sami Khedira (27 years old), as well as Portuguese and Sporting talent William Carvalho ( 22 years old) have been linked to our club, with the Metro reporting earlier that the deal for Carvalho will be finalised next week.
But in the recent weeks, Wenger and Arsenal scouts have looked upon a Polish Central player named Krystian Bielik (17 years old) and have reported to have had 2 bids rejected for the £2.4million player from Legia Warsaw. The first being around £1.3million, and then a second for £1.6million. Although not a first team player for a long time, Bielik sprung onto the scene last season and has played in the Legia Warsaw first team already, proving to be a potential target for larger teams. But for that price, we have surely signed him ? Right?
Wrong. Reports have come out to say Bielik has had a successful trial at Hamburg who ‘Hope’ the midfielder will join them. The same report mentioned that Dick Law, Arsenal’s chief negotiator, will fly to Warsaw on Tuesday to try and conclude a deal for the Young player. For such a small amount for Arsenal, surely we can wrap this up in the coming weeks. Maybe not first team quality. But young talent can really be built on and can shape him into an incredible player. He has already claimed to have signed for Arsenal with quotes such as ‘Arsenal is the club for me’, but that could have been lost in translation by a Newspaper.
Now, I’m not saying that’s all we should buy, because Real Madrid and French talent Raphael Varane has come out his week to confirm he wants to leave the club due to his lack of play time. Under Jose Mourinho, Varane became a favourite and started the majority of the games alongside Ramos or the interchanging Pepe. He is sure to become one of the best defenders in the world, and for £25million, Arsene could wrap up Varane and Bielik which would be perfect, but it looks like only the latter will be signed….for now.
