Speaking after the FA Cup final parade today, the 25-year-old took to social media to put an end to all media speculation that he would leaving in this summers transfer window.

In a post on Facebook, the Polish shot-stopper stated, “Its been a long season for me but I promise to work my socks off to make it better next season and make all The Gunners around the world proud again.”

Szczesny was knocked down the pecking order on New Years Day following a number of poor performances, which forced Arsene Wenger to throw David Ospina between the sticks instead.

And since then the Colombian hasn’t disappointed, producing an impressive number of clean sheets, which have ultimately carried Arsenal to a convincing end to the Premier League campaign.

However, apart from the 2-0 victory over Hull City, the out-of-favour Szczesny featured in every FA Cup game this season, which reassured the Polish international that Wenger still had faith in his services.

The drop in performances and several negative comments from Szczesny’s father led to the media reporting rumours of a move for Chelsea’s Petr Cech, which now looks incredibly unlikely following this news.

In one last cheeky comment in his Facebook status, the Pole made a small dig at the media, “And a big well done to the media who almost managed to convince people that I could acctually leave my home and the people I love! Well, you’re gonna have to put up with me for many many years.”

Wojech Szczesny started his professional career at the club back in 2009, and after coming through the ranks as an academy player, it seems he wants to pay back the Arsenal boss for the confidence he put in the Pole.
