5. Lars Bender
 Lars Bender has been identified as Arsenal’s main transfer target this summer as they look to add strength to their midfield (Mail and Mirror). Arsene Wenger is certainly a big fan of Lars Bender – the Gunners have had bids turned down for the energetic midfielder in previous summers. Leverkusen will be very reluctant to sell, so Wenger may have to accept that he will cost in the region of £25million. To compete at the top Arsene is probably going to have to overspend a little in order to get the best talent. Bender would be a quality addition and with Arsene’s history of interest – many will see him as the most likely arrival in defensive midfield. However Leverkusen aren’t keen to sell cheap and Bender doesn’t seem overly keen on moving away from Germany, so nothing is certain.
