Sam Allardyce has admitted the attempt to sign Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal has hit a speed bump, despite having an agreement with both clubs.
According to the former England manager, Jenkinson is yet to agree personal terms on his switch to Crystal Palace, believed to be in the region of £3million.
The 24-year-old has given up on his Arsenal dream after he was dropped for academy graduate Ainsley Maitland-Niles last week, and a deal to join Allardyce’s army looks likely.
However, Jenkinson holds the final decision on his future and is believed to be stuttering on signing the contract at Selhurst Park due to considerations over his wage etc.
During his post-match press conference following Palace’s FA Cup success, Allardyce suggested the move wouldn’t be completed in time for this weekend’s fixtures.

While we appear to have an agreement with Arsenal, that agreement with the player hasn’t reached a conclusion, so that’s hanging in the balance.
We are trying, spreading our wings far and wide. Hopefully in the next 48 hours one of those targets will be saying yes.
So it looks as if Palace are now resting on the head of Jenkinson, who has had plenty of other offers come in according to reports.
He’ll have accepted that his Gunners future is over by now, but if he wants to continue building on his game then a move to Selhurst Park wouldn’t be the worst option.
Living in London would mean he can remain settled in his home, as well as being close to his Arsenal teammates and of course, the other half of that bromance, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Jenkinson’s move provides a minor crisis at right-back with Mathieu Debuchy also set to leave this month having lined up conversations with Lille and Bordeaux.
