Reputable journalists confirm Arsenal set to complete deal worth £10m for midfielder

Arsenal look to have finally completed a deal that may make Mikel Arteta happy.

Matteo Guendouzi had fallen out of favour at Arsenal under Arteta, and after a mixed loan spell at Hertha Berlin this season, it was clear that the midfielder had no long term future at The Emirates.

Guendouzi clearly has talent, but his attitude appears to be a stumbling block in his progression of career currently. This has led to many top clubs choosing to ignore him as a transfer option, making a sale difficult.

Now though, although it will initially be another loan, it appears Guendouzi is all set to depart from The Emirates.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano and other sources across the continent. They say that Guendouzi, along with William Saliba, will join Marseille, initially on loan.

Reputable Arsenal journalist Charles Watts has confirmed the news and he says Arsenal will receive £10million next summer for Guendouzi, as there is an obligation to buy the player at the end of the loan.

Neither the Saliba or Guendouzi deals will add much to the coffers for Arsenal this summer, but it is important that the Gunners have sorted some of the business they need to do this summer.

Charles Watts says Guendouzi’s deal should be completed in the next few days. Arsenal will then be expected to complete a deal for Albert Sambi Lokonga next week.
