3 – Calum Chambers
Reports are starting to emerge suggesting that Calum Chambers could be set for a £20million move to Crystal Palace, though any permanent move is expected to include a buy-back clause as Arsene and the club are aware of the potential that Chambers has – that’s why the club invested £15million in him. Reports from the Telegraph on Monday night suggest a £16million bid has been made.
His loan spell at Boro was fairly successful and fans seem a little bemused as to why the club seem to want to part ways with the Englishman, especially considering Wenger is now deploying a back three, a system he would surely seamlessly fit into, as a right centre back. He has experience of playing in this system for Boro and would be good for the squad, considering the added stress of the Europa League next season too. But perhaps Rob Holding’s rise and Krystian Bielik’s impressive pre-season has seen Wenger decide to let Chambers move on.
