The Gunners suffered a blow in their top four hopes on Thursday night, but there is still a strong focus on how the club can continue to strengthen with summer acquisitions.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Gabriel Jesus in recent weeks, and now the Gunners have moved even closer to completing a deal with a formal 50 million euro bid, according to Goal in Brazil. Uol, another Brazilian based source, has also suggested that Arsenal have advanced negotiations for Jesus.
They say that Edu Gaspar, Arsenal’s Technical Director, gives the club a big advantage in negotiations for Jesus, as does Mikel Arteta’s presence as manager, given the fact Arteta has previously worked with Jesus during his time at Manchester City.
Manchester City also confirmed the signing of Erling Haaland this week, pushing Jesus closer to the exit door at the club.
The signs are there that Arsenal are again looking to the Premier League pool of talent to strengthen the side this summer, increasing the chances of them having an instant impact.
Jesus appears to have been around the league for some time, but his prime years are still ahead of him, having only just turned 25 in April.
