Reports: 5 senior Arsenal players set to leave this week

Arsenal have already spent a significant sum this summer and now they need to balance the books a bit. If enough sales are made this week then the Gunners could yet dip into the market further, taking their summer spending close to £200million.

One player the club will have been desperate to shift this month is Willian. Hopes though will have been low given his poor form and high wages. However, Edu Gaspar appears to be engineering a move away for Willian to his former club Corinthians. That’s according to the Daily Mail and other widespread sources that suggest a deal to take Willian to Brazil is at an advanced stage.

And another South American midfielder is set to leave. According to Sky Sports, Uruguayan misfit Lucas Torreira is set for another loan deal. They say the midfielder is heading back to Serie A to join Fiorentina on a temporary basis with a £12.8million option to buy for the Italian’s.

The Athletic reported today that there is interest in Eddie Nketiah who looks set to leave the club. The likes of Crystal Palace appear ready to offer Arsenal in the region of £10million, but it’s reported that the Gunners want double. The club’s stance on that one is likely to soften as the end of the window approaches given that he has just one year remaining on his contract.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are in talks with Fenerbache for the sale of Sead Kolasinac. In the same tweet, he confirms that Hector Bellerin is amongst those Arsenal players set to leave the club this month.

There are fewer reports around the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson, both of whom appear on the periphery of the squad.

Captain Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette have also been linked with moves away from The Emirates. Lacazette in particular has just one year left on his contract and Arsenal are likely to be open to offers.

There could be a lot of movement out for Arsenal this week and if they manage to sell enough, there could yet be a couple of more new arrivals. The club are thought to be seeking a new right-back and striker, but at this stage, activity will be dependent on outgoings.
