Arsenal are ready for a late surge of transfer activity.
Lots of players need to leave the club and Arsenal are in advanced talks with Crystal Palace over the sale of Eddie Nketiah, according to a London journalist.
He reports that talks are advanced with the deal looking to be earmarked at around £11.5million plus some add ons.
Nketiah has just one year remaining on his contract at Arsenal and has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League, despite a glittering youth career for club and country.
A sale north of £10million would be another success of the Hale End academy. Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are starring in the first team, whilst the sales of Willock and Nketiah this summer could add £40million to the club coffers.
If Arsenal sell Nketiah and potentially one of Lacazette and Aubameyang in the final few days of the window, the club would surely bring in a new number 9. Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been strongly linked.
22-year-old Nketiah is England U21’s record goalscorer, but he’s struggled with the transition to senior football. Eddie has netted just 5 Premier League goals and 1 assist, despite being trusted with 11 starts and 24 sub appearances. You do feel though, that if he played regularly for a team like Palace, that he could be capable of scoring more frequently. It feels a good deal for all parties.
