Report: Real Madrid Star Has Decided To Join Arsenal This Summer

Iker Casillas has decided to leave Real Madrid this summer and sign for Arsenal, according to reports in Spain.

The European Champions want the World Cup winner to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, so that they can move for Manchester United’s David De Gea.

Casillas previously indicated his desire to remain at Real Madrid until his current deal expires in 2017 but it’s now reported he will agree to a move to the Premier League- and move to North London.

Arsenal are in the market for a top-class goalkeeper to improve their title credentials next term and are reportedly interested in Petr Cech. However, Chelsea may command a higher fee for their stopper than Real want for Casillas.

Spanish journalist Josep Pederol told TV stations in Spain that Casillas wanting to move to the Premier League- before late stating on Twitter that the World Cup winner’s intention was to join FA Cup Champions Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger has had to change his goalkeepers this season, with Wojciech Szczesny’s loss of form leading to David Ospina becoming first-choice. However, it’s widely regarded that the Colombian is not the safe hands Arsenal need for their title bid.
