Report: Edu eyes highly-rated exciting £35m Brazilian on loan deal in January

Arsenal could be set to return to Real Madrid for a loan signing in January and not for Isco.

According to the Daily Star, the Gunners look set to miss out on Isco, but may be interested in bringing Brazilian Vinicius Jr to the club.

Of course the Gunners already have one Real Madrid man at the club on loan in Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard has flattered to deceive so far this season and is unlikely to remain at the club beyond the expiration of his loan at the end of the season.

If there is no option to buy in any loan deal for Vinicius, I personally see this as an odd deal. He’s not a player that would come in and help take Arsenal up a level immediately and the club have young players in wide areas that would be better served with time invested in them. The likes of Martinelli, Saka, Nelson and Smith Rowe are all capable of playing in similar areas of the pitch to Vinicius.

However if a option to buy was included, at a reasonable level, it may be worth considering. The Brazilian has failed to find consistency in Madrid so far, but is still only 20 and widely regarded as having some of the best potential in the world. We’ve seen the likes of Odegaard pushed into action too early at Madrid and struggle, but later excel when taken out of the limelight.

Therefore, the only way I’d like to see this deal done would be if it was a loan, with an option to buy in the summer, for a figure below £40million.
