Interesting Fact: During the January transfer window, Bielik was offered a higher wage to be tempted by a move to Hamburg in Germany. He later joined Arsenal, announcing:

“I have decided to move to Arsenal and although I cannot be sure of what is to come in the future, I’m going to London to fulfil my dreams,” Bielik, 17, told Legia’s official website.

 How much will he play?

Arsenal fans were expecting a World class central defensive midfielder in January, with the names of Luis Gustavo and Morgan Schneiderlin being thrown around the pot. But the sudden blossom of Francis Coquelin has basically shown that we won’t be signing this type of player anytime soon. Although we have a nice run of games during this month, I highly doubt Bielik will have a massive impact in our push for 4th place, because at the end of the day, he is only 17. I would expect him to make a few substitute appearances, and possibly given a real chance next season.

How well will he do?

At 17, he can very easily be moulded into a type of player we need at Arsenal. He has already shown a wide range of passing and defensive attributes at Legia Warsaw, and he really does look like a talent for the future. Admirers of him have already dubbed him ‘The new Patrick Viera’, but I am still unsure about this comparison. However, Viera came to Arsenal from a Milan side where he only played 2 senior matches, and he has become one of the greatest players that have ever walked down the tunnel at Arsenal. Many felt Patrick Viera was a random signing, but everyone now wants a replacement for him. Could Krystian be the man to fill his boots?
