Report: Arsenal open to offers for these 8 first team players, could raise significant funds

There’s been lots of talk about who Arsenal may sign in recent weeks, but there will also have to be players that leave in order for Arsenal to balance out their squad.

The Gunners already have an overinflated squad due to the fact they won’t be competing in Europe next season. Any new signings will only add to the amount at the club and it means plenty will need to leave.

According to a report in The Standard, Arsenal are very busy with outgoings and could allow eight first-team players to leave this summer.

Konstantinos Mavropanos, who has excelled on loan for Stuttgart this season is already in talks over making that move permanent for around £7million.

The Hale End trio of Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Eddie Nketiah, and Joe Willock are all set to hold talks with the club in the coming weeks, but according to the report in The Standard, Arsenal are expected to let Maitland-Niles and Nketiah leave for the right price, whilst they don’t hint and which way Willock will go.

Three more players who were out on loan last season look to be in the shop window. Lucas Torreira, Sead Kolasinac and Matteo Guendouzi are all believed to be up for sale.

Midfield stalwart, Granit Xhaka, meanwhile, remains in talks with Roma. The player is believed to be keen on a new challenge. Arsenal rejected a £12.9million bid for the player earlier this week, but Roma are expected to return with an improved offer soon. The Swiss international has two years left on his contract, and it appears Arsenal have decided to sell, rather than sign the 28-year-old to a new contract.

That’s eight members of the first-team squad that The Standard suggests could be on the way out, but there could be even more.

If Arsenal seal a deal for Ben White, you would expect one of Rob Holding or William Saliba to leave the club.

Elsewhere, Alexandre Lacazette currently has just one year remaining on his contract, and there have been no reports to suggest the Gunners are looking to extend his contract.

The worst signing of the season, Willian, has also been linked with a move away and Arsenal will not stand in his way if a suitor is found.
