Report: Arsenal in talks with Bundesliga club to sign exciting £35m-rated midfielder

It may only feel like recently Arsenal managed to secure the deadline day signing of Thomas Partey, but the transfer window is now only six weeks away from opening again and the Gunners could be set to sign another midfielder.

It was well documented that Arsenal tried to sign Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar in the summer, but no deal materialised. Despite the arrival of impressive Partey, the club still clearly need a create midfielder to help the Gunners score more goals.

According to SportBild, as reported via Sport Witness, Arsenal are ‘dealing’ with Leipzig in an attempt to sign French midfielder Cristopher Nkunku from them.

Nkunku fits the mould of a type of player that Arteta would like at the club. He is extremely versatile, able to play anywhere in midfield, deep, attacking midfield or on either wing. The Frenchman’s versatility would provide Arteta with tactical flexibility.

So far this season in the Bundesliga, Nkunku has managed 2.9 key passes per 90 minutes, the highest any Arsenal player has managed this season is 1.3 (Aubameyang and Ceballos).

With Arsenal back on tv what better way to spend a day than watching your favourite team via a live football stream. Last season Nkunku notched 13 assists in the Bundesliga, as well as 5 goals. Despite this he is not always in the starting eleven for Leipzig, so they could potentially part with the 23-year-old if Arsenal offer something in the region of £35million.

So far this season Nkunku has been named WhoScored man of the match in two of Leipzig’s three Champions League outings.
