Arsenal have secured a deal to sign Real Madrid midfielder Isco in the summer for around £35million, according to reports.
The Gunners have long been linked with a move for Isco, who once played alongside Santi Cazorla for Malaga. The 23-year-old has failed to nail down a starting spot in Madrid and may be looking for a new challenge come the summer, with the Spanish club seemingly willing to let him go. With the likes of Paul Pogba in the sights of Zinedine Zidane, Isco may be seen as a disposable asset, that may help raise some of the £65million likely to be required to sign Pogba.
Although typically more comfortable in central areas, Isco has excelled when playing on the right-hand side for Madrid – and it is in that position where the Gunners currently lack a world class player. Walcott looks poor and whilst Campbell has been impressive, he cannot be relied upon to deliver consistent top level performances.
I don’t know about you but an attacking midfield three of Alexis, Ozil and Isco sounds pretty exciting to me. Hopefully we’d find a world class striker to play in front of them..
