Arsenal are making moves in the market this summer, both in and out and now the Gunners seem to be turning their attentions to strengthening their midfield.
Arsenal are searching for players with huge creative qualities and amongst those are Brazilian midfielder and now Champions League winner, Philippe Coutinho.
Bayern Munich are not extending his loan deal, and now the 28-year-old would like a return to the Premier League, according to reports in Spain – and Arsenal could have a serious chance of signing him due to our connectons with his agent.
‘One of the possible destinations is Arsenal as Coutinho’s agent maintains an excellent relationship with the London club’. That is according to Marca – and of course, Coutinho’s agent is Kia – the same agent of David Luiz, Cedric Soares and Willian, all recent arrivals at The Emirates.
The Marca report goes on to say that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have interest in Coutinho from the Premier League, but that none of the clubs are willing to pay his wages in full. Barcelona will need to find some sort of compromise, with a loan deal and wages shared seemingly the most likely.
This is certainly a possible deal to keep an eye on. Now the Champions League is concluded, Coutinho will be looking to stabilise his future for next season. It seems Barcelona is burning to the floor right now and they don’t appear desperate for the midfielder to return.
Arsenal will know that the longer they wait, the less bargaining power Barcelona will have in negotiating terms in a loan deal. Equally, waiting and negotiating runs the risk of others parties swooping and grabbing the player, who is clearly still a very talented player, as he showed in his recent Champions League cameos.
