The latest to join the list is Pablo Mari, who is reportedly just 48 hours away from joining Serie A side, Monza whilst it still being unclear on whether it’s permanently or via loan.

Gianluca Di Marzio took to Twitter on Tuesday evening to update on the deal which has gathered real pace this week as Arsenal prepare to kick off the season with a trimmed squad.

The Sky Sports reporter who is based in Italy has released an article confirming that all parties were keen to wrap up a move as soon as possible.

Mari spent the second half of last season out on loan with Udinese, effectively confirming a departure of some description was on the cards ahead of the new campaign kicking off.

The Spaniard featured just twice for Arsenal during 2021/22 in which both appearances came at the start of the year when choices were limited.

Whilst there are still very few details around the move, it’s expected to bring in a minimal fee given Mari’s place in the pecking order at the Gunners.

With just two years left on his current contract, the 28-year-old is sixth in Mikel Arteta’s rankings of centre backs, with academy player, Reuell Walters, even preferred to him during pre-season.

Arsenal already Gabriel, Rob Holding, Ben White and now the return of William Saliba which will more than likely cement their defensive options for an increased amount of games.
