Well, at least we can finally catch our breath a bit now in what was quite frankly one of the worst transfer window’s I’ve seen us perform in.
Alexis Sanchez had been on every single back page during the summer as the media revelled in the chance of him making a big money move to Manchester City or PSG.
Despite Arsene Wenger stating 74,000 times that Alexis was not for sale, the Frenchman soon changed his tune on deadline day by allowing the 28-year-old to leave on one condition.
Alexis had his bags packed and pen at the ready to sign a deal but it soon collapsed as Arsenal failed to land Thomas Lemar, a long-term target they were confident could be a good enough replacement.
Now the Gunners are stuck in an awkward situation, keeping hold of a world-class player that wanted out will surely test the squad’s togetherness. Everyone has been divided on whether or not this was a good result, so here’s some of the best fan reaction…
