Dan Crowley? Chuba Akpom? Jack Wilshere? Three players who were tipped to become hugely important in the Arsenal first team…
But the latest to be tipped for glory under Arsene Wenger is Reiss Nelson, who after an impressive pre-season has once again managed to hit the headlines on Twitter.
Arsenal U23’s were losing 2-0 to Derby’s U23 side when a sudden change of position for Nelson brought him two goals to draw us level, before Nketiah grabbed the winner.
It was a pretty straightforward evening for the 17-year-old, who is growing in confidence having worked closely with Mesut Ozil during our summer trips to Australia and Asia.
Whilst everyone is talking about whether or not The Ox will be here this season, many believe Nelson could be the answer to step up and feature as a regular wing-back.
We’ve picked out some of the best reaction from Twitter, including a video of Nelson’s brace on Monday night:

Looks like we’ve unearthed a gem in Reiss Nelson. Energetic, technically gifted with bags of confidence for his age. Big season ahead #AFC

Arsenal haven’t had a talent as precocious as Reiss Nelson emerge from their academy in quite some time. Deserves a first-team chance.

Reiss Nelson probably the most excited I’ve been about a young player since Jack.

Needless to say Nelson is excellent and deserves to be in first-team. R-Adelaide improved second half. Subs McGuane and Dasilva good.
