According to the latest report from Jason Burt at the Telegraph, Pep Guardiola hasn’t given up his chase for the Gunners’ star man and is already preparing an offer.

With Alexis’ contract ending at the end of this season he is free to negotiate with other clubs from January 1st and Arsenal will face an ultimatum on whether or not to sell.

If not, Alexis will more than definitely link up with his old boss in time for the summer and Arsenal will have nothing in the bank to show for it other than a cleared wage bill.

Burt’s report goes on to state that players at Arsenal have already accepted last season’s top goalscorer will be off soon which will open up a space in the side for a new purchase.

Arsenal sanctioned the sale of Alexis on deadline day this summer but because they were unable to sign Thomas Lemar in time, had to pull the plug on Alexis’ dream move.

However, Arsene Wenger has already confirmed he will go back into the market for Lemar and having tabled a £90million offer he certainly means business.

Things are becoming a lot clearer in terms of Arsenal’s transfer future and I think the majority of us just want Alexis gone to try and sort out where we can go from here.

Wenger’s priority will now be to tie down Mesut Ozil on a long-term deal. The latest on that front is negotiations haven’t opened yet but the German’s preference is to stay.

With Man United and Jose Mourinho fishing around the situation its mounted pressure on club officials to get the deal completed as a way of reassuring the fans before Christmas.
