Arsenal struggled on Saturday night against an impressive Brighton side.
The Gunners will be grateful to come out of the game with a point and they have a strong rearguard to thank for that. Previous Arsenal teams may have crumbled and lost this game, but despite misfiring going forward, Arteta will take comfort in how the team defended.

Here’s how I rated the players.
Aaron Ramsdale – 8
Takehiro Tomiyasu – 4
Ben White – 9
Gabriel Magalhaes – 8
Kieran Tierney – 5
Thomas Partey – 5
Albert Sambi Lokonga – 7
Emile Smith Rowe – 7
Martin Odegaard – 5
Bukayo Saka – 6
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang – 5
Man of the match: Ben White. On his return to Brighton, White was hugely impressive. Probably the main reason Arsenal came away with a point, he made 7 clearances, 2 interceptions, blocked 2 shots and made a key pass.
Flop of the match: Takehiro Tomiyasu. From man of the match in the derby, to flop in this one. We should expect some inconsistency from a young player moving to a new league. It was a tough afternoon for him, beaten on several occasions, but he has the right ingredients to be great for us moving forward.
