Player Ratings: Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Arsenal

This week we have taken the ratings from the fans averages generated on our ‘Player Rater‘ page.

Wojciech Szczęsny – 4.7

Saved us numerous times but was a bit crazy for the second goal coming off his line. Distribution far from perfect. Again.

Hector Bellerin – 4.3

Was caught out of position a few times, not awful considering the other players performances and the fact he made his Champions League debut.

Laurent Koscielny – 4.7

One of the better players but still not at his best. Saved Arsenal a few times, maybe should have stopped the second goal going in.

Per Mertesacker – 3.5

NOt up to the pace if he hasn’t got the right protection, which he didn’t yesterday. Worrying performance from the German.

Kieran Gibbs – 5

For his first game back, he did well to be one of the better players but still looked shocked by Dortmund’s quality.

Mikel Arteta – 1.8

1.8 might be too high a rating for Arteta. Slow, passenger, out of his depth – all words that come to mind when I think of his performance.

Jack Wilshere – 4.8

Far from his amazing performance against Manchester City, but was one of the better players. Looked like he wanted to win at least.

Aaron Ramsey – 3

Passing off, performance poor once again. He needs to pick up his form. Plenty of other options on the bench.

Alexis Sanchez – 4.2

Lots of energy but passing was off and almost at fault for a couple of goals. He did show fight to try and win the ball back.

Mesut Özil – 2.8

Such a worrying uninspiring performance. Even his biggest fan Arsene Wenger hauled him off after 60 minutes. Enough of watching nothing happen.

Danny Welbeck – 5.8

Our highest rated player at 5.8, that tells you something. Welbeck fed off scraps but did have two good chances to score which he wasted.
