Player ratings: Arsenal 3-1 Manchester United

Arsenal hosted Manchester United in a huge game on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners looked in control before much like last seasons game, Marcus Rashford scored on the break to give Manchester United the lead.

Arsenal bit back immediately though, when Martin Odegaard slotted in from Gabriel Martinelli’s pass to level.

The second half had more drama. Arsenal somehow had a penalty overturned when the ref was asked to go to the monitor. The high bar Howard Webb speaks of was out the window when it is in Manchester United’s favour.

Arteta then brought on Vieira, Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus with 15 minutes to go.

Garnacho then thought he’d won it at the death, only for VAR to rule it out as offside. Something that’s not subjective.

But just like last year, Arsenal had a sting in the tail. Declan Rice with his first Arsenal goal before Gabriel Jesus scored on the break to make it 3-1. What a game!
