Player Ratings: Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham

Arsenal were at their scintillating best on Sunday afternoon as the Gunners made light work of a Tottenham side that looked uninspired under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Football changes quickly and just three games into the season Spurs were sitting top of the league and Arsenal rock bottom. Now, just three games later, the Gunners, with today’s win, have moved above Spurs on goal difference and into the top half.

Nothing to celebrate of course, but given the club’s start to the season, this is a recovery of sorts and since the new signings joined the team, Arsenal have looked a very different side to the one easily dispatched by Chelsea and Manchester City.

Here’s how I rated the players.

Aaron Ramsdale – 9
Takehiro Tomiyasu – 9
Ben White – 8
Gabriel Magalhaes – 8
Kieran Tierney – 8
Thomas Partey – 9
Granit Xhaka – 8
Emile Smith Rowe – 10
Martin Odegaard – 8
Bukayo Saka – 10
Pierre Emerick Aubameyang – 9

Man of the match: Bukayo Saka – I’m going to go with Bukayo ahead of Smith Rowe purely because Emile got the nod on Sky Sports. I think both were near faultless and 10 out of 10. They brought the energy, desire and crucially end product needed to dispatch this poor Tottenham side.

Flop of the match: Nobody this time!
