Arsenal opened their Premier League campaign with three points on Saturday afternoon, although it was a nervy finish at The Emirates after a fast start.
Goals from Eddie Nketiah and Bukayo Saka were enough to see Arsenal win the game, but a late Awoniyi goal off the bench ruined Ramsdale’s clean sheet.
Use our player rater tool below to have your say on how the players performed, and see the average of all the other fans. Scroll down to see how we rated the players and who we chose as the man of the match.
Here’s how I rated the players:
Aaron Ramsdale – 6
Ben White – 6
William Saliba – 7
Jurrien Timber – 7 (off injured shortly after half time)
Thomas Partey – 8
Declan Rice – 8
Martin Odegaard – 7
Bukayo Saka – 8.5
Kai Havertz – 7
Gabriel Martinelli – 8.5
Eddie Nketiah – 7.5
Men of the match: Saka and Martinelli were perhaps Arsenal’s quietist players last week against Manchester City, but they followed that up today by being the Gunners brightest lights. Bukayo’s goal was sensational, as was Martinelli’s skill to create the opener for Nketiah. Martinelli’s defensive workrate was also outstanding.Â
