The Gunners were not at their best, but it was a weakened XI which started the game and the clubs first pre-season game of the season. Chuba Akpom led the line whilst powerful Nigerian teenager Alew Iwobi featured from left wing. The likes of Per Mertesacker, Nacho Monreal, Mathieu Debuchy and Jack Wilshere also started the game.

Other youngsters to make an appearance were the highly rated trio of Chris Willock, Gedion Zelalem and Daniel Crowley – who all came off the bench in the second half.

A crowd of nearly 30,000 turned up to watch The Arsenal against Singapore – and Arsenal will now meet Everton in the final on Saturday after they beat Stoke City on penalties. The Gunners are expected to name a much changed XI for that game.
