Arsenal confirmed the £2.5million signing of Krystian Bielik on Wednesday morning.
The 17-year-old midfielder joins from Legia Warsaw on a long-term contract. He is a defensive midfielder that has been brought from Legia Warsaw. Bielik is a Polish midfielder and has impressed for Legia this season, leading many of Europe’s top clubs to be interested in his signing. He is also capable of playing at centre back, and stands at 6ft 2 (with still years to grow some more!).
Arsenal.com officially announced his signing on Wednesday: ‘Arsenal have completed the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw for an undisclosed fee.’
Bielik is now expected to go straight into the first team squad, as Arsene Wenger confirmed last week. From the photos he looks a bit physically weak, but he is only 17. The Polish midfielder looks like he will need time to fill out and become the combative midfielder the Arsenal fans are craving. Will Wenger sign a senior defensive midfielder this window? I find that very unlikely now. It seems, with Bielik in his first team plans and Coquelin excelling, Arsenal may wait until the summer before going all out for Morgan Schneiderlin.
Here’s some photos of him in an Arsenal shirt.
