Picture Special: Lokonga & Nketiah star as Arsenal beat Ipswich 5-1 in pre-season opener

Arsenal kicked off the 2022/23 season with a behind-closed-doors friendly win against Ipswich at London Colney on Saturday.

Arsenal put out a strong team in the first half, including the likes of Nicolas Pepe, Thomas Partey and Eddie Nketiah. The side also included some returning loanees in the shape of Pablo Mari and Hector Bellerin.

Nketiah scored a first-half hattrick with Lokonga netting the other which saw Arsenal lead 4-0 at halftime. Lokonga, playing in the left central midfield role, also picked up two assists.

In the second half Arteta rotated and played a full youth team, with Folarin Balogun scoring in the second period. The game finished 5-1. Arsenal are next in action against Nurnberg in Germany on Friday afternoon at 16:30. See below some of the best pictures from the match.
