Our Most Consistent Defender: 3 Things We Learnt About Arsenal vs. Stoke

After losing on New Years Day in their last Premier League outing it was crucial that Arsenal picked up all three points against Mark Hughes’ Stoke. In truth the Gunners task was a very easy one as the Potters simply couldn’t handle Arsenal’s attacking threat as they strode to a 3-0 success. Here I talk over three things we leant in Arsenal’s comprehensive victory.

1. Alexis Sanchez is the Premier League’s best forward

Since swapping the Camp Nou’ for the Emirates Stadium Alexis Sanchez has been a complete revelation and has provided the Arsenal side with that key cutting edge in the final third. His 17 goals and 8 assists in all competitions have kept the Gunners in the hunt for the coveted top four place and many would wonder where we’d be today without him. Usually, When Sanchez has a good game Arsenal do, and this was vindicated on Sunday as the backline of Stoke were simply helpless. Sergio Aguero may have a claim to being the best Premiership forward, but Sanchez’s all round attacking and defensive work just makes him that little bit more special. Despite his wonderful attitude, there comes one problem. He is such a hard worker I fear he could burn out. This cannot happen and he may need to be rotated in the coming weeks so he can be saved for the run-in.
