There have been some interesting social media reactions to Arsenal’s impressive win against Liverpool in the Community Shield on Sunday.
Amongst those to react were some dividing figures. Firstly, Mesut Ozil. The German international has caused all kinds of divides amongst the fanbase in recent months and even years, but today he united with the club, players and fans by congratulating the team.

It seems Ozil is wanting to continue to be a positive voice for Arsenal – to keep fans onside amid the standoff between club and player. The same cannot be said for Matteo Guendouzi though. The Frenchman failed to publicly congratulate or even acknowledge Arsenal’s recent FA Cup and Community Shield triumphs.
Elsewhere there was Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard’s loan deal expired following the clubs FA Cup win and since then, he has continued to have love for the Gunners on social media. So much so that today he was live-tweeting during the major events, and seemed over the moon when Arsenal won.

That was just one of many tweets from Dani – so we’d recommend having a look at his timeline in full. His reaction to the win and performance has only further fuelled rumours of a potential return. This is possible, but Arsenal and Real Madrid remain in negotiations.
And finally the reaction of Gabriel Magalhaes. The player we told you signed for Arsenal this week, but the club are yet to confirm. Here, he seemingly confirms himself. First, he liked Luiz Instagram post about his penalty kick in the game. Then, he comments in Brazilian: ‘I was nervous bro’ – commenting about the penalty shootout.
