We’ve seen Lucas in countless YouTube clips by now, and in each and every one of them he looks like a fiery type of fella you wouldn’t want to get in the way of.
Being away from the media spotlight and in a lesser disciplined league he’s been able to get away with quite a lot, but that will all change in the Premier League.
Referees and the FA are now working together to clamp down on behaviour, so might the two strikers compare when left in a pressured situation up top?
Olivier Giroud is no stranger to the referee’s book and his consistent need to moan and groan when things don’t go his way will now result in a yellow card under new regulations.
In the league last season Giroud picked up two yellow cards, it was domestic competitions where his tempers often got out of control.
Lucas on the other hand-picked up three yellow cards in La Liga, and whilst neither were ever sent off in the league their need to go down easily will not sit well with the fans.
Lucas reminds me of Alexis so much, he’s got the desire to just race on and fight for everything, but in his first few games he must make sure excitement doesn’t turn into frustration.
