Jakub Kiwior and William Saliba two of the Premier League’s ‘fairest’ players, study shows

  • Jakub Kiwor is Arsenal’s cleanest player this season, committing just three fouls and drawing one during the three full matches he has played
  • He is the eighth cleanest player in the Premier League, and 50th in Europe
  • Crystal Palace defender Nathaniel Clyne is the Premier League’s cleanest player
  • Burnley’s Mike Trésor and West Ham’s Angelo Ogbonna are the only players on average to not commit a single foul per 90 mins
  • Christian Eriksen is the only player in the top 10 to have received a yellow card this season

Ticketgum can reveal that Jakub Kiwor is Arsenal’s fairest player and eighth in the Premier League this season, scoring 9.02 out of 10. The centre-back joined Arsenal in 2023, and this season has played three full matches in which he hasn’t received any yellow or red cards but has scored one goal for the club. Although he has committed three fouls (equivalent to 0.91 fouls per full match) and drawn just one foul (0.3 fouls per full match) so far this season, he has fouled less frequently than most of his teammates.

William Saliba is second, scoring 8.88 out of 10. The 22-year-old centre-back has scored two goals for the club in the 20 games he has played this season and has also received two yellow cards and committed 11 fouls (0.55 fouls per match). Additionally, he has drawn seven fouls, equating to 0.35 fouls drawn per match. He is the 72nd fairest player in the Premier League this season.

With Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu now back fit and Jurrien Timber not far away, Kiwior’s has a lot of competition for his place on the left side of defence, but the Polish international should retain the position until he no longer deserves it, in my opinion.

As the games stack up in April others may rotate in, and Kiwior equally could cover for Gabriel in the heart of the defence, too.
