‘It has been agreed’ Journalist reveals major deal between Arsenal & Newcastle is already complete

There may still be one game left in the Premier League this season, but the transfer activity in the Premier League is already very much heating up.

Aaron Ramsdale, currently Arsenal’s backup goalkeeper, is reportedly on the verge of joining Newcastle United this summer.

Sky Sports reporter James Green revealed, “It is my understanding that Aaron Ramsdale has agreed to join Newcastle in the summer. That has come directly from speaking to somebody who I am very close with who has spoken to his agent & he’s said it’s done, the deal is happening.”

Ramsdale’s departure, while significant, is not unexpected. He lost his first-choice status to David Raya, who arrived last summer and is set to join Arsenal permanently. Arsenal will now focus on securing a reliable backup to Raya.

Arsenal signed Ramsdale for a fee that could rise to £30million, so they will hope to at least recoup this amount with a sale, despite the keeper playing second fiddle this season.

Whilst Nick Pope has impressed in recent years, he is six years older than Ramsdale and has restricted ability with the ball at his feet.

For Newcastle, signing Ramsdale would be a boost and the players emotional approach would suit those surroundings perfectly.

The club, under new ownership, is aiming to become a top contender in the Premier League. Ramsdale’s skills and experience could make him a key part of Newcastle’s squad under Eddie Howe. It is believed that Howe is a big fan of Ramsdale and has been a driving force behind a potential move.

Business between the two clubs this summer may not end there, with Arsenal reportedly keen on both Aleksandr Isak and Bruno Guimaeres.

The delay in an official announcement may be because of the fact Newcastle have restricted spending potential until July.
