Along with the boredom of the international break, the last couple of weeks have been pretty miserable for Arsenal fans…
Whilst they remain unbeaten, the Gunners have suffered back-to-back draws in the Premier League and are in desperate need of a lift ahead of their Champions League showdown with PSG.
And it looks as if the mood at London Colney is a good one, as Arsene Wenger revealed there were no fresh injuries to contend with and two players who were on their way to returning.
Both Santi Cazorla and Lucas Perez have been sidelined for a number of weeks with ankle injuries, but it appears we’re entering the final stages of their recovery ahead of a busy festive period.
Lucas, who has been missing since our 2-0 victory over Reading in EFL Cup, is ahead of schedule and returned to light training the morning, meaning he could be available in just over a week.
Meanwhile the extent of Cazorla’s achille’s injury has been confirmed, and the boss believes we could have him back for selection within the next two weeks if all goes to plan.
Cazorla is believed to be back in Spain at the moment as he steps up his bid to feature in the Gunners midfield before Christmas, and as we all know the little magician has been missed.
Overall it will be a similar squad to face PSG on Wednesday night, with Wenger expected to rotate the likes of Petr Cech and Aaron Ramsey in place of Opsina and Iwobi.
Olivier Giroud is heavily tipped to feature in the centre forward role after impressive performances, and you can get him to score first tomorrow night at 9/2 with 10Bet.
Having the likes of Cazorla and Lucas returning at the same time will do wonders for Wenger’s options in attack, as well as increase the level of competition in a squad that have become tired lately.
Hector Bellerin is working hard in the gym to speed up his recovery of an ankle problem, but it looks as if Mathieu Debuchy will seek a move away as Carl Jenkinson looks the more favourable replacement.
