3) Returning from injury: Theo Walcott still has it!
As aforementioned, it’s maybe time Cazorla has a bit of a break eh? Replacements can be found in the transfer market in January, or sitting on the bench in the likes of Campbell and Podolski. Or… fresh from the injury room with Theo Walcott! Back after 9 months out after his heroic 2-0 hand symbol to the Spurs supporters in the FA Cup tie last year, Theo came on for the first time this season with ten minutes to go at the end of the game. Worries of a loss of pace and physical power, it seems he has gained it, and despite “lacking competition”; famous words from Le Proffeseur, he had all aspects of his game back in full flow. Taking players on, driving at speed and providing a killer delivery, he had the lot and almost provided a spectacular assist for Podolski if the German’s shot hadn’t cracked the post in half. Almost scoring too, his instinctive drive from a tight angle was denied by Heaton, proving his improvisation and final product is something the Gunners have lacked, and only looked through with Alexis. Partnering Alexis on the wings, and Mesut in behind Welbeck will be the pinnacle of our season, providing the pace and space in behind we need to tear teams apart. Maybe set to start versus Anderlecht? I don’t know, but if he does, don’t be surprised if the Englishman scores on his full return.
