2. Francis Coquelin
Francis Coquelin, the 23-year-old French defensive midfielder, had a cracking game yesterday. Having signed for Arsenal in 2008 he’s spent all his time up until now on loan to one club or another. Due to Arsenal’s injury crisis Coquelin’s recently been recalled from his loan to Charlton Athletic, though prior to this match he’d previously only been a substitute. Desperate needs seek desperate measures so in the West Ham game Coquelin was named in the starting lineup and then proceeded to stay on the pitch for the full 90 minutes. During that time he made seven clearances, five interceptions, won three tackles and both his aerial duels. His pass success rate was 73.3%. Within minutes of kick-off he If Coquelin is given a chance and carries on playing like this he could certainly have a very bright first team future at Arsenal. Watch this video of Coquelin talking post-match about why he’s enjoying being back and his return to Premier League football for Arsenal:
