Arsenal fans were fuming with Woijech Szczesny after two errors from the goalkeeper led to Southampton scoring two easy goals and winning the game 2-0.
The Gunners fans were far from happy with most of the players performances after the loss saw them fall three points behind 4th placed Southampton. The majority of the frustration from the fans was for Woijech Szczesny. Here’s how they reacted on Twitter.
Szczesny is astonishingly fortunate to be keeping goal for a big club. Can't think of last time I thought he came to his team's rescue

No idea what Szczesny is doing there. No danger. Just pick up the ball. It's our "best back 5" that has conceded 2 comedy goals today

Another awful performance, Southampton could've easily had more than 2 goals. The mistakes made by Szczesny were just embarrassing…

Some had more sympathy for the Pole, pointing out that today was simply a bad day at the office.
Szczesny most obviously at fault on both goals but other senior defenders making basic errors.

Szczesny had an awful match today, but I do rate him very highly, he just needs to calm down a bit and take the right decisions.

Please, please drop Szczesny – consistently awful all season

Awful awful decision-making from Szczesny once again. Not surprised, has been doing that for years. Average GK. Keeps costing Arsenal.

Can't blame Koscielny for this but he did have a hand in both. His communication with Szczesny has always been awful.

Thank god some of you lot don't make any decision for our club. One bad performance from Szczesny and you all want him gone. Ffs.

Szczesny was extremely poor today, but there’s no denying that most of the Arsenal team were under par. Blame fatigue, injuries or whatever you like, but the 1st day of 2015 was certainly not one to remember for Arsenal and the fans.
