Arsenal have been handed a huge boost ahead of tomorrow’s fixture against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
Laurent Koscielny is back in training and in the squad for the game tomorrow, Wenger has confirmed:Â “Koscielny is in the squad for tomorrow. Welbeck is in, Wilshere is out. Walcott is out and Szczesny is out too.”
The news about Wilshere, Walcott and Szczesny is sad, but the main positive is that we will no longer have to put up with Nacho Monreal as a central defender. Arsenal have the chance to play with a solid back four against the German side.
The Gunners must win to ensure qualification from the group and to keep any chance of winning the group alive.
You do wonder whether Wenger has rushed Koscielny back or not. The boss suggested we wouldn’t see Koscielny for a few more weeks last week, but after the United loss – he has suddenly come back into training with the first team squad.
With Wenger coming under criticism this week, the Frenchman responded to the press with positivity: “There’s a very strong bond inside the team and inside the club. We will have a very strong season”
Aaron Ramsey joined the boss in the press conference and suggested the best is yet to come:Â “Against United was the first time I’ve felt physically sharp. I still believe in my qualities and I know I can show them”
