Gossip: Shock Sale To Chelsea, £29m Striker On His Way? Cazorla Stay & More

Arsenal reached the FA Cup final at the weekend, where they will fight to retain their crown, whilst they prepare for the visit of league leaders Chelsea. Meanwhile, off the field, there’s a suggestion of a shock-sale of one of our stars to the Blues…

Chelsea Express Interest In Mesut Ozil (Fichajes)

Chelsea have interested in a shock deal with rivals Arsenal for the transfer of Mesut Ozil, according to rather humorous reports in Spain. The form of Ozil has been inconsistent at times, with the player being heavily picked on in the media.

One man who knows his talent though is Jose Mourinho, who managed the German at Real Madrid. However any chance of Arsenal selling one of their best and most popular players to their rivals across London is frankly hilarious, ridiculous and absurd.

But hey, it made me smile.

Arsenal Move Ahead In Chase For Gonzalo Higuain (Various)

Various reports, including those in the Metro and Daily Star, suggest that Arsenal have moved ahead of Italian giants Juventus in the hunt for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain. Worth around £29m, Higuain would be a huge signing.

However, it would also surprise me. Arsene Wenger doesn’t like to play with two strikers and I can’t see him dropping Olivier Giroud anytime soon. A striking arrival is highly possible but it’s more likely to expect a younger, or less high profile, player that will be happier with a rotation spot in the squad.

Santi Cazorla is set to reject the likes of Atletico Madrid and Barcelona in order to remain in North London with Arsenal, according to reports. The Spaniard had previously been linked with an exit at the end of the season but things have changed in recent months.

Cazorla has re-established himself as a key player for Arsenal this season, becoming a crucial part of the cog in the Gunners midfield machine. For that reason alone it was unlikely Cazorla would be sold but considering Wenger is eying new midfielders could have changed things.

However the decision that Cazorla himself wants to remain in North London is a good thing for Cazorla and the club.

Arsenal To Beat Spurs To Hector Moreno (Various)

Beating Tottenham in any fashion is always entertaining, especially with St Totteringham’s Day fast approaching, and now Arsenal fans are set to be delighted in a new fashion come the end of the season as reports, from The Express and others, state Arsenal will beat Spurs to a new signing.

That man is Espanyol defender Hector Moreno, who also starred for Mexico at last summer’s World Cup, and he is said to be a prime target for Tottenham Hotspur. However, he’s said to be willing to ‘do anything’ to join Arsenal.

Whether the Gunners need another centre-back is also up for debate- but it’s always fun to beat Spurs to anything, especially when it’s a foreign player, accepting that the other side across London are indeed in our shadows.
