Gossip: Arsenal To Bid For Juventus Defender, Sanogo Out, Two Brazilians In?

We haven’t uploaded a gossip round-up for a while, but after a flurry of transfer links over-night – we felt it was right to return with a summary.

Arsenal are preparing a £9.5m + Yaya Sanogo on loan offer for Romulo (Express). I don’t know a lot about Romulo, but he’s been capped 8 times for Brazil. He’s 24 and still playing in Russia so is he the long term answer to our defensive deficiencies? I don’t know. Is this true? Probably not. When was the last time Arsene Wenger dipped into the Russian market? Or signed a Brazilian? It’s been a while, that doesn’t mean it won’t happen but, it’s unlikely.

Arsenal are preparing to reinforce their defence by signing Stephan Lichtsteiner and Virgil van Dijk (Guardian). The Gunners certainly need to reinforce their defence. Lichtsteiner? I find it hard to believe Wenger would sign another experience right back, even with Mathieu Debuchy injured. van Dijk seems a more likely signing. A young centre back with a lot of potential is exactly what we need right now.

Wellington Silva is set to return to Arsenal next season, if Arsene Wenger wants him (Mail). After spending three years out on loan, Silva could play for Arsenal next season. Will he have a career here? That’s another matter. He has a lot of potential, let’s see how he does out on loan this season and then give him a chance in pre-season.

Pedro will join Arsenal if his game-time doesn’t improve at Barcelona (Metro).
Arsenal were reportedly targeting Pedro before opting to sign Alexis Sanchez in the summer. I’m glad we went for the Chilean, but that’s not to say the Spaniard would be a good signing. He’d help give us some more natural width. He could only arrive if the likes of Lukas Podolski and Joel Campbell were sold. The competition for places in Arsenal’s front three is already very cramped. An attacking signing should not be a priority, and I expect a signing like this would wait until the summer.

Blog Watch: Something has to change at Arsenal before it’s too late (Metro). An analysis of what’s wrong at Arsenal at the moment.

Arsenal are weighing up a move for Grzegorz Krychowiak (yes I copy and pasted his name) (TalkSport). He seems the perfect build, age and type of player that we need. But is he actually good? Who knows with a name like that. Seriously though he’s been impressing at Sevilla, who are flying in La Liga so he obviously has ability. He only joined them this summer though, so is it realistic that they’ll sell him in January? Only for a huge fee I’m guessing.
