3 – Benedikt Howedes to Arsenal
I think it’s time that Arsenal signed up long term transfer target Benedikt Howedes. The 27-year-old German is incredibly versatile and can play with quality and maturity across the defence.
With Mathieu Debuchy set to leave, the Gunners would benefit from some senior cover at full back. Calum Chambers doesn’t look the part at right back and it would be foolish to fully rely on young Hector Bellerin for an entire season.
Howedes is primarily a very talented centre back, and a natural leader. It is these leadership qualities that make him such an attractive purchase, and with a reported £12million release clause, the Gunners should not hesitate.
