With the January transfer window already half way through and the Gunners well in with a title shout, they need to be more active in the transfer windows final stages.
Here are four transfer deals they could and should make in the final 12 days. To reveal the other three players, please click the navigation underneath the article.
1 – Alvaro Morata to Arsenal
With Paolo Dybala helping lead Juventus back towards the top of the Seire A table – one man remains on the fringes of the first team: Alvaro Morata.
Arsenal should take advantage of the situation and try to sign the Spaniard; a fee of around £20million is likely to be enough to sign up the 6ft 2 striker – who is also wanted by Real Madrid.
Whilst Olivier Giroud is doing an impressive job in leading the line, he will turn 30 this year and Arsenal need a player capable of succeeding the Frenchman. Morata may not immediately be guaranteed a starting spot in this Arsenal team, but he certainly has the potential to become an important part of the eleven with Arsenal’s other key attackers heading towards the final years of their careers.
With just one goals in 18 appearances this season, Morata is struggling to impose himself in Serie A, I feel Arsenal could be the place for him to rediscover his best form.
Morata will not want to be on the bench ahead of the European Championships this summer, and Arsenal could offer him the chance of more regular first team football, with the Gunners currently heavily reliant on Giroud for goals. The Spanish striker is just 23, but has plenty of top-level experience and has even scored in a Champions League final. With Danny Welbeck still an injury worry, Arsenal cannot afford to ruin their title charge and one injury to Giroud threatens to do that.
