Arsenal have completed the signing of Cedric Soares from Southampton. The right-back will join on an initial loan deal, with the Gunners having the chance to bring him in as a free agent in the summer when his contract expires.
Cedric is a right full-back and has played in the Premier League since 2015 for Southampton, racking up 120 appearances for the south coast club. The 28-year-old also has 33 caps for his country Portugal and will be competing with both Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles for the right-back slot. In an emergency, he can also cover left-back. Niles may now be utilised more in midfield as the young Englishman has requested.
