Arsenal are in talks to sign Paris Saint-German striker Jean-Kévin Augustin. The teenagers contract expires in 6 months.
Reliable sources have confirmed Arsenal’s interest in Augustin, who is a highly rated 17-year-old striker. He is yet to play for the senior team and his current contract is due to expire in the summer.
The forward joined PSG from A.C.B.B in 2009, and has predominantly as a striker in the PSG youth ranks, but is also able to play on either wing.
Augustin is French and stands at 5ft 10′, he is known for being a fairly fast player with an eye for goal. He has caught the eye having scored seven goals in the UEFA Youth League in just 12 appearances.
Due to Augustin playing for a foreign club, he is free to sign a pre-contract with Arsenal this month and ESPN report the likes of Juventus, Roma, Benfica, Porto and West Ham are interested. If the Gunners can beat these clubs to his signature, Augustin could sign a contract this month that would see him join Arsenal for free in the summer.
There is a possibility that Arsenal could sign the player this month by paying PSG a small fee. With Lukas Podolski, Joel Campbell and Yaya Sanogo all out on loan; the possibility of Augustin joining this month has increased.
