Arsenal have all but completed a deal to bring Petr Cech to Arsenal, Fresh Arsenal understands. The £10.9million deal to bring Cech to Arsenal was broken by the Mail an hour ago, and we can confirm that story is accurate. Official confirmation of a deal is now subject to a medical, booked for Friday.
£100,000 per week wages were agreed with Cech yesterday and a fee between the two clubs has finally been agreed today. It is currently unknown whether a medical has already taken place or is due to take place soon – but the deal is as good as done. Arsenal could announce the deal officially within 24 hours.
Cech will become one of the highest earners at the club and immediately displace David Ospina as the clubs number 1. At this moment it looks like Ospina, rather than Woijech Szczesny will be the keeper to make way for the Czech international.

Wenger will be thankful for Ospina’s contributions in his year at the club, but signing Cech was an opportunity Arsenal could not afford to pass up.
Arsenal fans will hope Cech at 33 can have a similar effect to what Edwin van der Sar did for Manchester United. The 34 year old joined United late in his career and went on to help them win several major trophies.
Personally I think this deal is up there with signing the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez – he is a world class player, there can be no debate about that. Adding a world class player is always something that completely lifts a club.
