The first set of pictures show Mustafi’s opener and the clear passion and enjoyment from the players once his goal hit the back of the net. The goal was marginally offside, but this time it was not ruled out by the linesman, who had denied the German a similar headed goal against Chelsea in that 0-0 draw.
Alexis Sanchez then doubled Arsenal’s lead, and it was pleasing to see the Chilean so happy to score and to celebrate properly with the fans. He clearly showed his commitment to the club, at least for the time being, in his great performance and celebration of the goal.
Cech didn’t have too much to deal with on the day, but this was one moment where he was really required. He showed his importance to the club with a fingertip save to deny Dier in the latter stages.
He didn’t feature, but Welbeck was back in the squad for this fixture which was pleasing to see. Perhaps he will return in Thursday’s Europa League game against Cologne.
