Le 10 Sport claim they have received ‘accurate’ information that informs them Arsenal are willing to pay the asking price for Aubameyang, which reportedly is between €80-100million.

Aubameyang will turn 27 this summer and is moving into the peak years of his career. His price tag is high but certainly warranted having scored 22 goals in 25 appearances in the Bundesliga this season. His 7 goals in 8 Europa League appearances also highlights his effectiveness in Europe.

There’s no doubt that signing Aubameyang would significantly improve the starting eleven for Arsenal and give the Gunners the world class striker that they need.

The likes of Real Madrid and Manchester United are clubs likely to be competing with the Gunners for this signing. Arsenal will have to attempt to flex their financial muscle more than ever to complete this signing.

Aubameyang and Granit Xhaka are the most strongly linked to joining Arsenal this summer, and if the duo did join it would significantly boost the squad. An investment of around £90million would be required though, so the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may need to be shifted to balance the books.
