Aston Villa are preparing an offer to sign one of Arsenal’s best player in 2020.
The Gunners are looking to raise funds this summer and so they may be willing to part with goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, after making Bernd Leno their number one goalkeeper.
The 27-year-old Argentinean impressed between the sticks following Leno’s injury after the league restarted in June. Emi helped Arsenal win the FA Cup and improved the clubs defensive record in the seasons home stretch.
Now, according to The Independent, Aston Villa are preparing a £10million offer for Martinez. Arsenal are unlikely to accept this and will hold out for around £20million, as we told you yesterday.
Arsenal will not be pressured into accepting the first bid that arrives. Fresh Arsenal understands more than 10 clubs have shown an interest in signing Martinez on either a loan or permanent deal. Hopefully the Gunners hold out for £20million, for which I think he is worth every penny.
Martinez is just one of the first team players likely to leave Arsenal in the coming weeks. The club expect to raise in excess of £60million from four player sales.
